Blue Shank Inn
We are a family owned and operated Bed and Breakfast Inn. The west wing of our historic home (circa 1878) offers a peaceful and private haven exclusively for the use of our guests.
Guests enjoy a private entrance to the Inn where they can choose from three lovely guest rooms, all with private baths. Our rooms are also equipped with televisions and portable phones. A common sitting area is provided with tables and chairs and can often find guests and hosts enjoying a cup of tea here in the evening hours together and there is always the possibility of having a cut-throat game of Scrabble.
Although it was added-on in 1878, the Inn is still the “modern” wing of our large composite style home. The original loyalist farmhouse (where we reside year-round) was built in the early 1800’s!
The Breakfast Room
This warm and welcoming space greets our overnight guests with the smells of fresh baking and provides the backdrop for many memorable conversations. In the evening, guests are encouraged to use this space for sitting, sipping a cup of tea, or enjoying a game of cards, etc.
Cafe
In May of 2006, The Blue Shank Inn Café opened for business serving only lunch to locals and travellers. It has become a popular place among the locals and we’ve hosted several private group functions as well. We are small and cosy with well prepared and good-tasting food.
This summer we are trying something new, and adding dinner to the menu “The Lazy Lobster Dinner” is sure to be a hit for all those who want a taste of lobster, but don’t want to deal with the “package”! Call (902)436-7511 for dinner menu days, times and menus.
We are located on the western end of the Blue Shank Road (route 107) overlooking the Wilmot River. We are approximately 15 minutes from the Confederation Bridge, 5 minutes from downtown Summerside, and 40 minutes easy driving from Charlottetown and the Charlottetown Airport.
