The Pearl an eclectic eatery

The Pearl is an eclectic eatery located between the picturesque fishing village of North Rustico & the Cavendish Tourist Area. There is a love for detail that shows up not only in the food, but in the artwork & creative energy contained within The Pearl.

The Pearl has been a Taste Our Island Award finalist in each of its first three seasons, winning this coveted award in 2010. This award recognizes restaurateurs who support regional food systems by offering their guests fresh, locally grown ingredients.

Maxine Delaney owns & operates the The Pearl. She has ventured down various creative paths, including leather coat design & production & was one of fourteen designers to represent Canada at the 1st World Fashion Exposition in Osaka Japan. Maxine worked in set decoration, buying & scenic painting in the film industry, and has been involved in cooking as well as opening & managing various restaurants.

Maxine has done much of the renovation work on the building herself, including the addition of some interesting historical aspects. The stuff that decorates The Pearl is a collection from Maxines life, work & travels. Everything has a story. She has a deep appreciation for art that is reflected in her ever-changing collection of Canadian paintings as well as her own impressionistic paintings & photography.

The Pearl is a labor of love for Maxine, whose goal is to create a memorable dining experience that inspires all the senses. Equally important is that the setting remains comfortable & familiar to her guests, even while it continues to evolve, like a work of art in itself.
